The food was very low quality. I spent over $100 and did not get much food at all, the seafood pancake had no seafood, but imitation crab. The bulgogi was fatty and soaked in liquid. Bibimbop was very bland vegetables were weak. Even the rice was not fresh. I love Korean food so this was very disappointing. I do not recommend this place and will never return.
My friend and I were craving for some savory food after our spa, and she really wanted to eat Spicy Galbi Jjim (Braised Oxtail n Ribs) badly so we visited Yangji Gamjatang.
It's our first visit and surprising this place wasn't too busy during dinner time. We were immediately serviced and given all the banchan. The place is pretty small but it felt homey like a small family owned business. The vibes it gives off felt welcoming.
The Spicy Galbi Jjim is a MUST TRY here! They serve it piping hot and if you get it with cheese... be amazed when they torch the cheese. It's a full spectacle and fun to watch. It's my first time actually eating this dish so I was high with expectations and it did not disappoint. It was very rich with flavor, and the sauce is thicc! I absolutely love it. My friend thought it was a bit too salty for her, but I couldn't tell since I ate it with rice. It was perfect for me. And the meat easily came off the bones :D
And the Gamjatang was very flavorful, and delicious. It's a great soup if you looking for something hearty and warm.
Definitely worth a visit but be mindful that parking is a struggle here! This plaza is popular so they only offer valet parking (limited though) or you can take on the challenge of street parking.
This is a great ktown restaurant that is open early and daily, Sunday through Saturday. It’s in a plaza so there’s a small parking lot. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. I recommend takeout.
I've always wanted to try galbijim, we found this place on google and decided to try it out. We ordered spicy cheesy Maeun Gori Galbijim, while waiting we got a nice assortment of banchan and water. They served us 2 rice bowls and brought out the pot. It looked beautiful! And then they torched the cheese, mesmerized by the pyro and melting. Once the served finished melting the cheese we went right in! It was enough for 3 hungry people. The first bite of the oxtail with the spicy sauce and cheese was incredible. I would commend this hearty meal for anyone that loves meat spicy food and cheese. Korean food is top tier. ♡
Big portion for the soup🙏🏻 I really liked all the side dishes! Service was great too.
Great food and great service. The Gamjatang (pork rib/bone soup) was really good and the portion size was huge! There was a lot of meat and the soup is a staple comfort food. I also loved the variety of the banchan (side dishes) and the fact that they all tasted really good. Valet for $3.
Get the pork neck soup for sure; it’s the restaurant’s namesake for a reason. Good flavor and comforting. Not a fan of the kim chi pancake - too sour and floppy; wish they were crispier. The galbi is also really good if you have a big appetite. Good meat with sweet and salty flavor. Add cheese and they put on a fire show that will get heads turned. The banchan are pretty good and diverse; never had the beans one before. It’s small inside and opened until 2.30a on a Sat (Fri night); there was a line but turn around was decently fast. Signs say vax proof required but they didn’t check us.
We ordered via Postmates and the food delivered in a reasonable amount of time. The galbitang is really what gives this place a high rating.
Galbitang ($19.95): Wow, this was the best beef short rib soup I've ever had; the soup flavor was chef's kiss! Everyone needs to try this soup. They gave 3 huge bones with big chunks of meat on them too! The only small portion was the glass noodles which they stuffed in a small sauce container. At first I was a bit upset at the disproportion, but later I was too invested in trying to get the meat off the bone and slurping the delicious soup that I didn't really care about the noodles. If this was the only thing I ate, I might be more worked up.
Banchans: They put each banchan in their own individual container. These were not the best banchans, especially the thick radish. Everything else was mid.
White Rice: We got 2 small containers of white rice which were really good and soft. I love the texture and taste of it.
Beef Bulgogi ($22.95): The portion was kinda small and the marinade was too sweet for my taste. I wouldn't get this again.
